Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Meld ("Meld", "we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the Meld mobile app (the "App") and the meldplay.com website (the "Site"). By downloading, installing, or using the App or Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them. Questions? Email hello@meldplay.com.

1. Your licence to play

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial enjoyment, in line with these Terms and the App Store's rules. That's it — we keep all other rights.

2. Our intellectual property

Meld and everything in it is our work, or our licensors'. All content in and around the App and Site — including the game itself, its characters, animals, artwork, designs, animations, layout, visual style, look and feel, text, sounds, music, and software — is owned by Meld or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. All rights reserved.

3. Trademarks

Meld™, the Meld name, the Meld logo and wordmark, and our characters and branding are trademarks of Meld. You may not use them without our prior written permission, and you may not use any name, logo, character, or branding that is confusingly similar to ours.

4. What you may not do

Except where the law expressly allows it, you agree not to:

• copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, rent, sub-licence, publicly display, or publish any part of the App, Site, or their content;
• extract, rip, scrape, or reuse our artwork, characters, animations, audio, text, or other assets — including for use in another app, game, product, or AI training or generation;
• modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative or "inspired-by" works based on our content, characters, or branding;
• decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the limited extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
• remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
• clone or imitate Meld in a way that uses our name, branding, characters, or distinctive look and feel so as to mislead people into thinking your product is, or is endorsed by, Meld;
• use the App or Site for any unlawful purpose or in any way that disrupts or harms them.

The underlying idea of a "merge" or "drop-and-combine" puzzle is not claimed by these Terms — what is protected is our specific expression of it: our characters, art, audio, text, branding, and code.

5. Purchases

Meld is free to download and play. It offers an optional one-time in-app purchase to unlock additional play (and may offer optional content packs in future). There are no subscriptions. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; Apple's terms, billing, and refund policies apply to those transactions. We don't process or store your payment details — Apple does.

6. A game, not medical advice

Meld is made to be calm, gentle, and enjoyable. It is a game for relaxation and entertainment — it is not a medical device, and it is not therapy, treatment, or a substitute for professional health or mental-health care. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional.

7. "As is"

We put real care into Meld, but the App and Site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee that the App or Site will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot legally be limited.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meld will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App or Site. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Changes

We may update the App, the Site, or these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms, we'll update the "last updated" date above; meaningful changes take effect when posted here. Your continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction — without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your own country of residence.
